MiScreen a4 DSM

The MiScreen Digital Screen Maker turns artwork into prints, whilst eliminating traditional emulsions, hand cutting stencils and the many time consuming process of traditional screen making.

Fine lines, large solids, text and greyscales are quickly transferred onto RISO thermal mesh using a professional Thermal Print Head (TPH), view the video demonstration below to see for yourself how fast and easy MiScreen is to use.

Eliminating carbon based artwork and transparencies improves quality, with no losses through a secondary transfer, no UV light undercutting, no movements, no extra time and cost saving by eliminating ink and film costs.

DTS - Design To Screen

MiScreen is fast and easy to use, as with a click of a button artwork is sent directly to the machine. RISO mesh is pre-mounted onto the frame (using double sided tape), which is inserted into the machine and design transferred when the lid is pressed - out comes the imaged screen ready to print instantly.

MiScreen uses a professional Thermal Print Head (TPH) to provide ultra sharp imaging of lines, text and solids, opening the RISO mesh to reveal the design. Chemical free, completely dry and safe process you can perform on a bench top in class with students or at home.

Upgrading from the discontinued analogue Thermal-Copier systems brings you into the Digital age, with faster imaging, higher quality sharper prints, wider range of mesh grades and importantly lower screen costs.

What can you print?

Applications and Techniques

MiScreen opens the doors to printing almost anything with 3 Mesh grades from coarse 70Mesh for maximum ink flow, through to ultra fine 200Mesh for non-absorbent materials such as glass/ metals/ plastics.

It's also important to match a suitable ink/paint and the correct printing technique to complete the overall suitability for the application.

MiScreen Digital Mesh

RISO Digital QS Mesh is the new generation ('P' Type) Polyester Mesh.

More on QS Mesh

Which Mesh is best for each application?
- 70Mesh allows very high ink flow for solid designs using thicker Supercover inks on absorbent surfaces i.e. t-shirts/ fabrics.
- 120Mesh is the sweet spot for almost all applications with sharp quality prints for lines/text/solids onto absorbent and semi-absorbent items. (replaces 70Mesh 'S' type).
- 200Mesh limits ink flow to reduce bleeding, making it suited for ultra fine designs onto glass/ metals/ plastics/ non-absorbent materials where off-contact printing is required for a controlled layer of in flow.

Not everything is listed here, so if you have an application question Contact Us.

Have a question?

What we need to know: 1. Type of item you wish to print
- t-shirts/ canvas/ polymer clay/ glass
2. Size of your design/ artwork 3. Number of colours in design 4. Quantity of prints per design

Frequently asked question

The MiScreen Application Software is best used to open a file and send to machine.
- Work in A4 page size to ensure correct image position within the screen.
- Work at actual size. Not recommended to scale designs in MiScreen Software.
- Use 300dpi images and artwork.
- Avoid low quality 72dpi internet images.
- Convert artwork to black/ white. Colour will be image in a shade/tone.

Export your artwork as 'Press Quality PDF', or Maximum Quality JPEG, to ensures the design is correctly coloured rendered and importantly to scale and correctly positioned on your A4 page.
- MiScreen software will also use GIF, BMP and PNG formats.
Yes, if your artwork is black, you will receive a solid image, where the image is grey/ colour/ shading, the MiScreen will image and create a shading. For photographs, the GP100 model is best with ultra sharp 600dpi imaging, however the 203 THP of the MiScreen will also image
Yes, you can use any sized frame provided the 28cm wide MiScreen Mesh can be attached. You will however require a MiScreen frame to image the design in the machine, as MiScreen frames contain the alignment holes (and cut off hole) built into the frame. After imaging, simply remove the mesh from the MiScreen Frame and attach to your custom frame as required.
Yes MiScreen prints multiple colours, or you can print single - up to you and your design.

As with all screen printing each colour to be printed is placed on it's own mesh/frame for printing. MiScreen works the same. Colour separate your artwork first, then create a screen for each colour. A carousel/ printing jig is required to align each of the screens to ensure correct registration. For detailed information, download Information Sheet #31 from the Support section of the site.

Oh no, have you dropped your machine or pulled the frame out the wrong way? There is not much else that can go wrong, however support and service is available from NEHOC Australia, the Authorised Australian MiScreen Service Agent.

Replacement TPH requires firmware changes to match the new TPH resistance and is not available by self install.

Please contact your place of purchase to arrange machine service through NEHOC Australia.
